The objective of the New Zealand Academy of Sport North Island's (NZASNI) Sports Medicine Programme is to enhance performance for carded athletes by emphasising prevention and minimising the duration of injury and illness.
To achieve this objective, we have developed a network of over 100 of New Zealand's leading sports medicine specialists to provide medical support services to carded athletes. The NZASNI medical network covers the whole North Island so carded athletes do not have to travel far to receive specialised sports medicine support. Each NSO has a financial credit for Academy services and manages expenditureagainst that credit. The Academy will only pay for services that arespecified in the NSO service plans or which have been specifically authorized by the NSO's High Performance Driver. The table below lists services that are commonly specified in the NSO service plans. Please refer to this table before directing athletes to otherservice providers, in case NZASNI or NSO pre-approval is required.
