OUR TEAM
The New Zealand Academy of Sport North Island is part of a national network. The New Zealand Academy of Sport is a network of high performance focused operations designed specifically to support and enhance the performance of our leading and most promising sports men and women. The New Zealand Academy of Sport network has two regionally based operations all with a coordinated approach and a commitment to work together to achieve success. The regional operations are headquartered in the Auckland and Dunedin, with major service centres also in Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. Each area also has various satellite bases offering specialist services to ensure a nationwide coverage. In partnership with Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC), the New Zealand Academy of Sport is committed to excellence in high performance sport.  The New Zealand Academy of Sport North was established in July 2000 and became the New Zealand Academy of Sport North Island in July 2007 and is an incorporated society involving Auckland University of Technology, the Millennium Institute of Sport & Health, the University of Auckland and the Waikato Institute of Technology. We are an integral part of the national high performance system in New Zealand. The New Zealand Academy of Sport North Island is contracted to Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC) to deliver applied services (sport science, sports medicine, access to training facilities, coaching support and career, education and professional development opportunities) to athletes and coaches in accordance with the requirements of the nationally recognised Sports.
